Biography

Eric Lefebvre is a Canadian politician, entrepreneur, and public servant who has played a significant role in Quebec’s political landscape. A dedicated member of the Conservative Party of Canada, Lefebvre was elected as the Member of Parliament for Richmond—Arthabaska in the 2025 Canadian federal election, succeeding Alain Rayes. His journey to public office was shaped by years of experience in municipal governance, business leadership, and grassroots advocacy.

Born in Victoriaville, Quebec, Lefebvre pursued higher education in physical education at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, earning his degree in 1995. His academic background provided him with the expertise to navigate complex policy discussions and advocate for responsible governance. His career in business began in 1999 when he co-founded and managed Pub Le Caméléon in Victoriaville. He later served as president and CEO of Chevrons Vigneault, a construction materials company based in Saint-Ferdinand, from 2011 to 2017. His leadership in these roles reinforced his reputation as a strategic thinker and a dedicated advocate for economic development.

Lefebvre’s political career began at the municipal level when he was elected as a city councillor in Victoriaville, serving from 2001 to 2008. His commitment to public service extended beyond municipal governance, as he ran as the Conservative candidate for Richmond—Arthabaska in the 2008 federal election. Though he was not elected at the time, his campaign reinforced his dedication to representing Quebecers and advocating for policies that support regional development and economic sustainability.

His transition into provincial politics came in 2016 when he was elected as the Member of the National Assembly of Quebec for Arthabaska under the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ). He was re-elected in 2018 and 2022, serving as Chief Government Whip from 2018 to 2024. In April 2024, he resigned from the CAQ caucus to sit as an independent, later announcing his candidacy for the Conservative Party of Canada in the 2025 federal election. On election night, he secured a decisive victory, winning nearly 35.5% of the vote in Richmond—Arthabaska.

His tenure in Parliament continues to reflect his dedication to economic resilience, community advocacy, and fiscal responsibility.
