Diane Lebouthillier PC MP (/diˈæn ləˌbuːtɪˈlɪər/; born February 5, 1959) is a Canadian politician and member of the Liberal Party. Since 2015, she has served as the Minister of National Revenue in the federal government. Lebouthillier represents the constituency of Gaspésie—Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine in the House of Commons.
Born on February 5, 1959, Diane Lebouthillier’s roots trace back to the Gaspé region in Canada. When she was four years old, her parents returned to their hometown in the Gaspé. Before entering the realm of politics, Lebouthillier worked as a social worker, diligently serving clients at the CLSC in Chandler. During this time, she collaborated with Georges Mamelonet, a long-time Member of the National Assembly (MNA), on various social service matters in the region. Lebouthillier is a proud mother of three sons and a loving grandmother to two grandsons.
Lebouthillier embarked on her political journey in 2010 when she was elected as the Prefect of Le Rocher-Percé Regional County Municipality. This experience provided her with valuable insights into local governance and community development.
In the 2015 federal election, Diane Lebouthillier secured a seat in the House of Commons, representing the constituency of Gaspésie—Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
