Alexis Deschênes is a Canadian politician, lawyer, and journalist who has made a significant impact in Quebec’s political landscape. A dedicated member of the Bloc Québécois, Deschênes was elected as the Member of Parliament for Gaspésie—Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine—Listuguj in the 2025 Canadian federal election, unseating longtime Liberal MP Diane Lebouthillier. His journey to public office was shaped by years of experience in legal advocacy, media, and provincial politics.

Deschênes has a deep-rooted connection to Quebec, having spent much of his career working to improve the lives of residents in the Gaspésie region.
