A dedicated member of the Conservative Party of Canada, Borrelli was elected as the Member of Parliament for Windsor—Tecumseh—Lakeshore in the 2025 Canadian federal election, unseating Liberal incumbent Irek Kusmierczyk in one of the closest races in Canadian history. However, after further review, her final margin of victory was reduced to just four votes, making her election one of the closest in Canadian history.
