Biography

Juanita Nathan is a Canadian politician, educator, and community advocate who has made a significant impact in Ontario’s political landscape. A dedicated member of the Liberal Party of Canada, Nathan was elected as the Member of Parliament for Pickering—Brooklin in the 2025 Canadian federal election, succeeding Jennifer O’Connell. Her journey to public office was shaped by years of experience in municipal governance, education policy, and grassroots activism.

Nathan has been a long-time resident of Markham, Ontario, where she built strong connections with local residents and organizations. Her career in public service began with her election as a Public School Board Trustee in 2010, a role she held for three consecutive terms until 2022.
